Education and Expertise

James’ journey into chiropractic care began with undergraduate studies at Trinity Western University. He then pursued his Doctor of Chiropractic degree at the University of Western States in Portland, Oregon, where he graduated in 2024 Magna Cum Laude. Throughout his education, James developed a strong foundation in evidence-based chiropractic care, functional movement, and rehabilitation. He continues to expand his expertise with advanced certifications, including: - Neurocentric Approach

James is passionate about helping patients stay active and pain-free by addressing movement dysfunctions, sports injuries, and chronic pain conditions. His approach focuses on restoring optimal function and empowering patients with the tools they need for long-term health and is committed to advancing his education.

Professional Experience

Before joining Aktiv Coast Healthcare, James gained valuable clinical experience doing his Clinical work at UWS Connected Whole Health in Portland and completed his preceptorship in Alberta at Care Chiropractic Health and Rehab working with diverse patient populations, from Semi-pro athletes, weekend warriors and everyday individuals recovering from injuries. His background as a former competitive hockey player and avid golfer gives him unique insight into sports-related biomechanics and injury prevention.

James combines hands-on care including a combination of soft-tissue techniques, manual adjusting and movement-based therapies to create personalized treatment plans tailored to each patient’s needs. He believes in a holistic approach, integrating manual therapy, rehabilitation exercises, and patient education to promote lasting results. ###Life Outside the Clinic###

When he’s not in the clinic, James enjoys spending time outdoors, playing golf, fishing, doing home renovations and staying active with his new wife Erin. His love for sports continues, whether he’s on the ice, at the driving range, or playing pickleball. Tyler is the Clinic Director and owner of Aktiv Coast Healthcare, where he has been passionately serving Tsawwassen since 2014. Born and raised in Hope, Tyler’s love for the mountains inspired his return to British Columbia with his wife, Sarah, after nearly a decade of studying and practicing chiropractic in Toronto.

Education and Expertise

Tyler’s journey into chiropractic care began with a Bachelor of Human Kinetics from the University of British Columbia in 2005. He continued his studies at the Canadian Memorial Chiropractic College (CMCC) in Toronto, where he earned his Doctor of Chiropractic Degree in 2010. Over the years, Tyler has expanded his expertise with additional certifications, including:

Tyler’s training allows him to provide well-rounded, personalized care for his patients, with a focus on running injuries, hip problems, shoulder issues, – helping people stay active and pain-free.

Before founding Aktiv Coast Healthcare, Tyler built his career working at prominent clinics in Toronto, including East Toronto Orthopaedic & Sports Injury Clinic and The Performance Health Centre. In addition to his clinical work, Tyler has shared his knowledge as a Clinical Supervisor for the Canadian Memorial Chiropractic College Externship Program and an Adjunct Faculty Member for the University of Western States Preceptorship Program, mentoring the next generation of chiropractors.

At Aktiv Coast Healthcare, Tyler blends his experience with innovative techniques to create individualized treatment plans tailored to each patient’s needs. His approach emphasizes hands-on care and movement-based therapies to help patients recover quickly and get back to doing what they love.

Life Outside the Clinic

When he’s not helping patients, you’ll likely find Tyler exploring the outdoors. He’s an avid backcountry skier, climber, and sailor, always eager to take advantage of BC’s natural beauty. As a dedicated runner, Tyler has completed the Ottawa, Toronto, and Vancouver marathons, and still enjoys challenging himself with long-distance runs. During his time at UBC, he also played on the junior varsity basketball team.

Tyler is a lifelong learner and adventurer. He loves traveling, trying new foods, and discovering new music, bringing that same curiosity and enthusiasm into his practice.
