Iris Liu, a BC Registered Acupuncturist (R.Ac.), earned her bachelor’s degree in pharmaceutical analysis from China Pharmaceutical University in 1994. It was during her time at university that she developed a keen interest in Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) and acupuncture. Witnessing her mother’s shingles improve and her son’s eye infection resolve without any treatment directly on the eye greatly intrigued her.
Driven to assist others, Iris pursued further education in the field. She completed the Traditional Chinese Medicine Practitioner Program at Vancouver Career College in 2022, acquiring knowledge in acupuncture, herbal medicine, cupping therapy, and tuina massage.
For more than fifteen years, Iris has dedicated herself to practicing yoga. She firmly believes that incorporating specific yoga poses into one’s daily routine can be immensely beneficial for individuals experiencing body pain, soreness, or imbalances in their body structure. This belief, when combined with acupuncture, aligns with the theories of TCM, which emphasize the heart as the primary source of disease.
Iris’ treatment focus aims to enhance various conditions, such as muscle and joint pain, sports injuries, motor vehicle accidents, digestive system issues, constipation, edema, migraines, women’s health concerns (including PMS, fertility, pregnancy and postpartum support, and menopausal symptoms), stress relief, depression, insomnia, and post-stroke symptoms. Additionally, from 2015 to 2017, Iris worked as a translator for the Richmond School District and actively participates as a member of the We Dance Association of Canada.
